Age of the Champions

$

0

Kingdoms of Camelot has released a completely new feature; the Champion.

Champions are warriors that can either march with an attack or stay home and defend a castle.  Before a traditional battle begins, the champions will battle each other, and the winner will boost the battle stats of its armies.

Champion Tips:

  • Only one champion can be assigned to a city at a time
  • Champion battle stats are more important than army battle stats (if your champion looses, none of the army battle stats matter anyway)
  • Check the stats of Champion Cards before enhancing them, many stats have variable values, dont waste time upgrading a champion with low stats.
  • You can have up to 4 Champions, make sure at least one is dedicated to defending scouts (with a good champ, you can become unscoutable)
  • Champions can NOT be set on scout missions, use this to your advantage
  • Experiment with different cards to see what works vrs what

More info to come as I figure out more about the Champions!

Throne Room How to Find Cards

Throne Room – How to Find Cards

Throne Room Cards can be found by attacking either Dark Forests, Wilds, Barbarian Camps or other players.  The higher the level of the city/camp/wild/forest that is being attacked the higher the chance there is for a card to be found.  On average, high level targets reward the attack with a Throne Room Card about ever 3-4 attacks.  The easiest and most efficient way to find cards is to use the bots Crest option.

Dark Forests

Attacking dark forests will always reward a set number of Aetherstones as well as a Throne Room card on some attacks.  Dark Forests are not great for gathering cards because they disappear after 1 attack and there are always losses.

Wilds

High level wilds produce Throne Room Cards at a fair rate.  The only down side is high level wilds have spiked traps, so there will always be minimal losses when attacking wilds.

Barbarian Camps

Barbarian camps are one of the best options for collecting Throne Room Cards.  With fletching level 9 research barbarian camps up to level 7 can be attack with no losses, and with some range equipped in the throne room, up to level 10 barbarian camps can be attacked with 0 losses.

Players

Attacking other players cities are one of the more popular ways of gathering Throne Room Cards.  Most players find another play that has been inactive and attack that city with 1 cavalry troop over and over.  The down side is once a player has been inactive for over 30 days their cities start to produce far less cards.

Merlin’s Gone Wild – How to gather tokens

Every day that a player logs into Kingdoms of Camelot they are greeted with Merlin’s Magical Boxes that can be opened once a day. These boxes contain items that can range from stone to portals to divine inspirations. The most common things to be won in a Merlin’s Box is a small amount of troops and resources. But every once in a while Merlin goes crazy and puts very valuable items in the boxes (like +9 and +10 masters tokens), so it is wise to save up as many tokens as possible for these events, but where can they be found?

Merlin’s Magical Tokens can be acquired 2 ways: helping others with their builds and a friend sharing a token.

Shared Tokens

After a player opens a magical box they are offered the option to share it with friends on Facebook.  If they click this option anybody can use the link that is posted on facebook to earn a free token.

Helping with Builds

If a player uses the option to “ask for help” while building in their city, a post will be made to Facebook.  Any other player can use that link to help them with their build and will earn a free token for doing so.

Limit 1 Per Customer

Each option, shared tokens and build helps, are limited to once a day per player.  So 2 tokens can be saved up a day.

Glory

What is Glory

Glory is a score that displays the amount of combat skill used in the current week.  Glory is reset to 0 every Tuesday.

How to Get Glory

The only way to gain glory is in battle.  Glory can be gained in both battles that are lost and battles that are won.

Might ratio, kill ratio and troop types are all used in determining the amount of glory earned in battle.

A player with lower might defeating a player with higher might will earn much more glory than a player with higher might defeating a player with lower might.

Players that have significantly more might than their opponent will earn no glory, regardless of the battle results.

Glory Icons

In chat and on user profiles a glory icon is displayed.  The icon displayed corresponds with the highest amount of glory earned in one week.

Throne Room Enhancing

Throne Room – Enhancing

Every card found in the TR will be at one of 6 levels of enhancement:

  • Simple – No lines active
  • Common – Line 1 active
  • Uncommon – Lines 1 and 2 active
  • Rare – Lines 1-3 active
  • Epic – Lines 1-4 active
  • Wondrous – All 5 lines active

To get a card from simple to wondrous the card must be enhanced.  The most efficient way to enhance a TR item is to use the Auto Enhance option in the MadMaxx TR Organizer bot*.

Open the Throne Room and click on the item to be enhanced.  From the menu select “Autoenhance” and allow the bot to do the work for you.  Most cards will reach wondrous between 12 hours and 2 days.  Some may take longer, it is a luck of the draw.

If, for some reason, you are not using any bots and want to enhance a card manually the procedure is fairly similar.  Open the throne room, click on the card to be enhanced and then click enhance.

Failure

When enhancing a Throne Room Card there will be many failures.  When a failure occurs the card is broken and needs to be repaired before there can be another attempt to enhance it.  Each level of enhancement is more difficult that the previous, and it is not unheard of for a card to require more than 100 attempts to enhance it to wondrous   The MadMaxx Throne RoomOrganizer will do this automatically or you can do it manually.

Each repair takes a set amount of time depending on the current enhancement level.

Protection Stones

Protection Stones prevent a Throne Room card from breaking if the enhancement attempt fails.  The stones do not increase the odds of a successful enhancement, but the can make the process quicker by avoiding breaking the TR card.  Protection Stones can be crafted in Fey Spires.

To use a protection stone from the enhance screen, in the right drop down box select protection stone.  Click enhance!

Completion

Once a card reaches wondrous there is no more enhancing to be done.  It is now time to Upgrade the card.

*All add on bots are against the TOS of Kingdoms of Camelot.  And even though they are widely used by most players, there is a chance that a player could get suspended or even banned for the use of such add on scripts.

Throne Room Caps

Almost all attributes in the throne room have a built in cap, or maximum that an attribute can be buffed or debuffed.  If an attribute in the Throne Room exceeds the cap then only the maximum allowed will be used.

In the throne room an attribute can be upgraded far beyond the cap.  The reason this is allowed is because in battle the enemy may try to debuff that same attribute.  Here are a few examples:

Range

  • Attacker has 200% range and 100% range debuff
  • Defender has no range or range debuff
  • The attackers range would be capped at 150% buff and 25% debuff
  • Attacker has 200% range and 100% range debuff
  • Defender has 100% range and 100% range debuff
  • Attacker would battle with 100% range, defender would have 0

Bonus Aetherstone from Dark Forests – My experience!

$

One of the newest Throne Room attributes to be released by Kingdoms of Camelot is Bonus Aetherstone from Dark Forests.  Since collecting A-Stone has become more difficult now that TR Card Drops have decreased since the introduction of the Champion, I decided to give this new attribute a tests.

I added the Minstrel Advisor +12 to my TR and that gave me 40.5% bonus Aetherstone.  This bonus has become a big part of my game now.  It cuts the amount of Dark Forests I need to hit to fill up a city with Aetherstone almost in half.

Info:
Cap: 100%
Items Found on: Minstrel Advisor , Casellan’s Table

Recommendation:
IF you are using a bot to auto DF this attribute is quite valuable. You will loose less troops and fill up your cities much quicker!
